Long before chocolate covered strawberries were a thought in my mind, I had a dream to become a psychologist, driven by a deep desire to heal relationships and marriages.
As I neared the completion of my master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Pepperdine University, my life took an unexpected turn. One evening as I was returning home from school, I was struck by a drunk driver and suffered a brain injury. My injuries forced me to withdraw from my graduate program, and for a time, I struggled to find joy in my life.
In my search for purpose, I turned to the Lord, and in my moment of desperation, He placed a verse in my heart: 'Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.' In that moment, God’s Word became the guiding light I so desperately needed. Like a lamp that illuminates the way when I feel lost or uncertain, His truth has provided me with direction and comfort, gently showing me the next step to take.
He placed an idea deep within me—an idea that grew into a new passion, one that helped me cope with my pain and ultimately inspired me to heal. Through His guidance, I found strength and purpose in what once seemed impossible.
Looking back, what seemed like a devastating setback opened the door to something truly special, a journey that now fills my heart with so much joy. I am profoundly grateful for the opportunity to share my passion with you. Now, I don’t only craft something beautiful and delicious, but I have the privilege of creating a product that allows others to feel unique and special while also nurturing meaningful relationships at its heart, a vision that has been my dream from the very beginning.
How was BERRY & CACAO’S love story created?
With a background in psychology and a deep passion for relationships, one quiet moment of reflection led to the birth of ‘Berry & Cacao’—two elements destined to unite in a beautiful love story. The vision took shape in my mind, capturing my heart with its simplicity and depth. It reminded me of my own time spent waiting for love, recalling the loneliness and longing that accompany such a journey. I thought of those who might be feeling the same sense of hopelessness and saw how they could relate to the story of Berry & Cacao—two souls yearning for connection in a perfect world. This harmonious blend of my passion for relationships and my desire to craft an exquisite chocolate-covered strawberry came together to create something truly exceptional.
